An alternative soundscape, Vera’s Son delivers on his 2020 release, ‘Madaford Mélange,’ available now on all major music and streaming platforms. 

‘Madaford Mélange’ features a dozen songs that showcase the working-class reality Vera’s Son is deeply rooted in. It’s how he was raised and what cemented him in this world, and it reflects in the alternative music he creates today. Inspired by everyone from Nirvana to Marvin Gaye, there’s not only angst but heart sewn in between every sign from “Funny in an Offbeat Way” to “Prideful Lust of Self Love.” Each song tells a story, and every story paints an audible picture for listeners to enjoy throughout. 

Admittingly socially awkward in most situations, Don Dreste worked at a cafeteria in a convent 22 years ago. One of the older nuns could never remember his name, so she dubbed him Vera’s Son. Instead of correcting her, he went with it and the name gave way to over two decades of musical creation while working in the middle of the night while the rest of the world slept.
