#Effective #Hashtags

if you exceed two hashtags in a tweet your chances of engagement drop by 17%.

Only 22% of engagement with a brand’s tweets are replies.

78% are retweets

92% are link clicks.

So if you include an appropriate hashtag or two in your tweets as a brand, you are massively increasing the chances of exposure and click-throughs on the site. Going from 10 to 20 – in retweets or link clicks…

"SALLY WONT YOU DANCE"

"N2 Anthem: More Than Just a Name, It’s a Vision"

After weathering the storm we call life, N2 Anthem and lead member Genesis continue fighting the currents of an unforgiving cut-throat music business in an effort to forever solidify the N2 Anthem brand on a global level. Genesis started out very young as an aspiring artist and has an unwavering approach to success and as you read further, you’ll catch a glimpse into her world and how she wants to leave her mark. Music has been a passion that Genesis refuses to lose track of!

Coda Grooves Ent. Provided me the opportunity to discuss life and the music business with Genesis, along with a chance to promote N2 Anthem as a diverse brand of music. Check out this article and see what it is that has the ear of the people buzzing about Genesis and N2 Anthem!

Tell the readers and fans alike where you’re from and what you liked most about your surroundings while growing up.

I’m from Ohio and my favorite part about being here is that everybody is pretty nice and since I‘m out-going it‘s easier for me to blend in. I love it here and there are a lot of musicians that have come from Ohio.

Did you always want to sing?

Yes! I always wanted to sing, but put it off and started writing songs only to realize that singing was something I could excel at. I started writing songs in fifth grade, but it wasn’t until eighth grade when I realized that I like to sing the songs I wrote.

That’s an early start, so I have to ask you if you had any musical inspirations during your youth.

I would hear songs I liked in the music we’d all be exposed to via the radio, television shows and movie scores, etc. It was something that came over me where I knew that I could do the same and be successful, but there weren’t any artists in particular that inspired me to make my own music. I always loved music and grew up going to the church a lot, so Gospel music was an early influence. It was soon after when I listened to Alternative and Rap music. I really like artists such as Adam Levine and the late Amy Winehouse to name a couple. Amy’s voice and style was a combination that nobody else had at the time.

Do you have any hobbies and passions aside from music?

Basically, anything that has to do with music; I’m there! I love going to concerts and seeing different acts perform, also taking the time to learn from them and their stage presence. How they get the crowd to gravitate towards their music and performance together was something I’d take notice of. Whatever I do I try to make it a fun experience!

How would you describe the chemistry you have with your band?

The chemistry is very natural from the studio to the traveling, even the rehearsals and performances.

Describe your musical style and what you bring to the music industry.

I’d describe myself as diverse because when you listen to the songs I’ve written and sang, you’ll hear a bit of Rock, Rap and even Country thrown into the mix. I have some songs that are straight R&B. There was a point where I didn’t really know how to describe my style and I was all over the place. I had people that helped me find myself as an artist and develop my overall skill set which prepared me for the music industry.

What’s your opinion on the music industry and your effort to break through?

It’s always evolving, so I’m eager to see and hear all the new artists coming into the industry.

Which new artists out today would you jump at the opportunity to record with?

I would love to work with Lauryn Hill and Frank Ocean! Both of them are great songwriters and artists. I’d love to work with Taylor Swift too! She can write her butt off, not to mention being a great performer.

What would be your biggest obstacle in the way of your continued progression in route to success?

That would be I. I can be my own biggest critic, but it’s because I know I can always improve in every facet of the business. It’s a gift and a curse because I always try to out-do myself and go harder envisioning a better product in my music and brand.

If I put you in a position of power for a moment and you became the first female U.S. President, what would be some of the pillars to your political campaign?

First off, I’d focus on female empowerment and gender/racial/ethnic equality. I’d focus on providing opportunities for everybody to be whatever they really want to be. I want to motivate everyone around me that I can reach out and touch. Everybody needs some motivation every now and then!

What means more to you, the money or the fame?

If I had to pick just one, then it would be the fame. My main goal is to touch everyone in the world with my music and be a positive role model for young girls growing up. Those girls need a strong woman in the industry as an artist that can sing and stand for something meaningful in her music.

What’s your favorite book to read when you can get away from the music business grind?

That would definitely be "The Secret"!

What about your favorite dish?

Give me anything with pasta! Olive Garden is awesome!

When you think about favorite films, which one comes to mind first?

I’m going to be a little cliché-ish and say "Love & Basketball". That’s a movie I can watch a million times and it doesn’t get old.

If you had a super power, which one would it be?

I’d want to read minds, but that would get kind of stressful, so I’d really like to be able to teleport from place to place and not worry about gas money!

What do you appreciate most about your friends?

It would be their loyalty and support for what I’m pursuing as a career. Some people think that friends come and go, but my friends are more like family to me. Sometimes I need to travel and I can’t hang out with them as much as I’d like, but they are understanding and don’t take it personal. They tell me to keep up the great work and continue making music!

What’s one lesson that you’ve learned and would share with the readers?

I was in a relationship where we’d break up and make up all the time. It got to the point where it wasn’t a healthy relationship. I can’t say that I was treated right and regardless of verbal or physical abuse, I have a lot to speak on when talking to women in similar situations. They can relate to me and my relationships as I try to be personable when reaching out. I took a less than decent situation and learned from it all the while using the lesson as a tool for a better future. You can go through a lot and always wonder why it’s happening to you, but then you look at yourself in hindsight and realize all of that made you the strong person you are today. I’m an optimistic person that looks at the glass as being half full and not half empty.

What’s your idea of happiness?

Happiness isn’t determined by fame and the money you’ve made, but more so with making a living pursuing and utilizing the talents you have, also making a big difference in the lives of others around you.

What’s your idea of misery?

I think that people who are miserable are not living their dreams, or not trying to. They need someone telling them to go after want they truly want out of life and not to let anything get in their way.

How has society changed or affected your personal philosophy towards life and the world around you?

Society has affected my way of thinking in a good way, because as I grew up I always thought I’d change the world before I let the world change me. I try to look at society from the point of view of someone trying to make a change for the better. I can’t really sit here and criticize society because everyone is human, but I look at life and ask myself what I can do as an individual to make the world a better place to live in.

Do you have any up and coming projects you would like to promote via this interview?

Yes, I do! My band and I have a new album titled, "N2 Anthem" that’s just about finished and my newest, hottest single off that project is a song called, "That’s Right!" which is something the girls will definitely love to listen to! Look out for "N2 Anthem" and all of our new material! I look forward to making new music and seeing what the N2 Anthem fans and supporters think about the new sounds! Thank you so much to Coda Grooves Entertainment!
