Alt rock meets modern-day vibes on new EP from grunge rocker Building Down

BOISE, ID – Nick Elliott is not afraid to speak the truth. His music is a perfect example of that. While he has nothing against love songs or the carefree lyrics of Pop music, his intention as an artist is to bring something deeper to the table. His music is the kind of music that touches on the deeper truths of the world. Like many people who have turned to music to help them understand the hardships of life, Elliott uses music to cope with difficult situations and delve deeper into the mysteries of life that often seem confusing and discouraging. And along the way he has found an outlet not only for himself, but for others. As such, his music has become the kind of introspective entertainment that fans all over the world have come to love and appreciate.

That process is what led to the name Building Down, which is what he uses as a stage name. Pulled from an old Blind Willie Johnson song, the name reflects the idea of tearing down the broken pieces of the past so as to build something stronger and new. It’s an idea connected with what’s happening in society and across the global landscape, with the intention of using music to inspire others to seek out positive change in their approach to social justice.

“My music is trying to reach for something a little higher,” Elliott said. “I’m trying to do that through a mix of rock, electronic, blues and folk, all while embracing instrumentation. People aren’t embracing instrumentation anymore, and it makes me sad because you don’t hear that guitar-driven sound like you used to. I would love to be on the forefront of a revival of guitar riffs and guitar solos.”

Elliott’s latest EP “Just Enough” is the perfect example of that guitar-forward instrumentation. Featuring an alt-rock style that blends elements of electronic and Indie/Folk, the project displays his early influences of Blues while also expanding on modern-day sounds that could only be called “progressive.” With “Just Enough,” Elliott shows the world a new style and sound that is equal parts intriguing and entertaining.

The debut single from the EP is a song called “Vapor.” Fans of late 90s and early 2000s alt rock will immediately identify with the sound from this song, as it hearkens back to bands like Better Than Ezra or Chevelle. Elliott embraces that grunge sound, but sets it against electronic-infused vibes that create an ethereal experience. The intriguing juxtaposition of the weeping electric guitar walking a line against a counter-point grungy electric guitar rhythm is nothing short of inspired. The song starts with an entrancing intro that pulls you in and then picks up as it goes along, and the overall ride is extremely enjoyable.

“This song reflects my observations of what is happening in America and what is happening in the world as a whole,” Elliott said. “People are going with how they feel more often than not, and they aren’t considering the ramifications of their actions. Their feelings lead them to dangerous ideas. When your feelings are your only barometer, it can lead you astray. It’s all too common in society today to hear the idea of ‘if you follow your heart it’ll all be OK,’ but clearly that doesn’t all work out. This song – and by extension, the full EP – highlights the fallacy of that statement and tries to warn people not to fall for those lies.”

Silence Releases A New Single Titled "Summertime" Featuring EMDUBAI

Derek Baily most known as “Silence” was born in Cedar Rapids Iowa. Silence was given his name at an early age for being quiet and shy, but the name stuck has he got older and into trouble as he was known as someone who would react without being noticed. After turning his life around the name stayed but became more of a positive nickname in his life, now showing positive actions in “silence”.

His love of music started when he was younger but never turned into anything until the Summer of 2018 when he met Executive A&R Andre Williams. He started working under him as his Jr. A&R and learn the music business helping with different projects and artists.

It was in 2020 when he decided to take the business and use it for himself turning his love of writing into artistry.

When you ask him where his music comes from, he will sheepishly tell you it’s from the life and struggles of the pain he’s dealt with watching his sister die to his mother not being able to take care of him since the age of 12 due to a prescription drug habit. Being homeless since the age of 12 he’s relied on street smarts, his personality, and ability to adapt to turn him into the person he is today, and the artist we see now. His fun-loving humor, to his bold statements of survival as “the white kid” on the streets bouncing back and forth from St. Louis to Iowa, Silence is not so silent now after all.

He just released his newest single over the summer “Summertime” featuring Iowa/Atlanta artist EMDUBAI and it was also Executive Produced/A&R by DJ K Yung. He is sent to do a joint project with Cedar Rapids IA artist Tone da Boss set to release in October of 2021.

South Florida artist showcases genre-bending sound on latest hit single ‘Poseidon’

MIAMI, FL – Up-and-coming artist Chelzzz is shaping the underground industry while soaring to the top with her recipe of intricate beats, bars for days and a voice that can’t be replicated. This South Florida active, event curator and promoter is not your typical female artist. This lesbian entertainer quite literally bends gender specifics with every release, and her latest single “Poseidon” is no exception.

Born from the very public divorce she’s currently going through, the song is Chelzzz’s attempt to be more vulnerable and give listeners and fans and inside peek at what’s going on in her life. With an aggressive flow of lyrics, Chelzzz encourages listeners of her music to get busy and have a good time, while also showcasing a super versatile style that has been her trademark since bursting onto the scene five years ago.

“I sing and rap, I’m high energy, and yet I can be very relatable, as well,” Chelzzz said. “I’m also a female artist who writes lines that are more provocative toward women. I don’t exploit women like a lot of other artists do. Being a feminine is important, but not a single one of my tracks are the same. I have one song about moving to South Florida and what I’ve gone through. I have another one that was written when all the stimulus checks were dropping. And ‘Poseidon’ is about a relationship. Everything is really different, but most of the time my music is more upbeat and more party stuff.”

Chelzzz has been releasing music as a professional artist since 2016. Serving as the primary visionary behind all her projects, she has quickly become known among industry insiders as an artist who not only delivers great music but also brings high-quality and entertaining videos to the table. Both her writing and visuals create stories that relate to audiences all over the world.

At the beginning of 2021 Chelzzz released her first album “Somehwere In Miami,” inspired by her journey from her hometown of Detroit to Miami. In the album Chelzzz showcases her unique and captivating town, which is a mixture of a Midwest swag and South Florida vibes. She’s been hard at work since that releasing putting together more singles, which she is now ready to release over the course of the next few months.

“I like being different and capitalizing off my own strengths,” she said. “I like switching things up and not being stuck in one box or genre. I think that’s super important for artists, and people as a whole, to see. Don’t let yourself be labeled as one thing or let society dictate who you are. My music shares that message, and more than anything that’s the biggest mark I want to make on the world.”

“Poseidon” is currently available across all streaming platforms. Chelzzz said she plans to follow that with another single called “Monster” sometime in October in anticipation of the Halloween holiday.

Artistry of Paul Morris set to be put on full display with string of single releases leading to full album ‘The Flight’

LOS ANGELES, CA – The full realization of Paul Morris’ artistic masterpiece is about to be unveiled for a global audience. What started with his hit single “No Reverse” at the beginning of the year now continues with “Coolest,” the next in a string of singles set to be released every month from now until July of 2022. And each song comes with an animated video – one playing off the other for a story woven together through song and artistic expression. Ultimately the story will be contained in the album “The Flight,” which will be released at the end of the journey.

Unlike “No Reverse” – which featured a spacey, out-of-this-world vibe – “Coolest” kicks the door open with a unique and original production style that perfectly sets the stage for the music to be featured on “The Flight.” It’s a song that shows the world who he is as an artist and what he’s able to bring to the table as a producer. It also defines him as a person lyrically, and introduces just one of many sounds perfected with the help of Grammy-nominated recording and mixing engineer Bryan Cruz.

“It’s going to be a broad album with different sounds throughout,” Morris said. “There’s definitely a different tempo on this song than the last one, which has a slower tempo and was more political. With this song it’s all me and it’s a party and we’re cruising together. It’s a vibe, and kind of an autobiography, but in a cool way. Ultimately it’s a song about how cool I am and how cool the project is.”

Formerly known as the artist Konchynce, Morris has long been a sought-after producer in the industry. He’s been making music for the better part of the last decade and has had the opportunity to work with many Grammy-nominated producers and engineers. Early in his career he worked with Derrick “Drop” Braxton on his mixtape “The Knowledge.” Drop is a producer perhaps best known for working with Lupe Fiasco on his album “The Cool,” which has received high praise from industry insiders since its release in 2007. Morris said he connected with Drop shortly after Lupe’s album release, and took him under his wing. He’s put in the hard work and honed his sound to be something truly special.

“My music is always about positivity,” he said. “I produce my own music, collaborate with other artists, and just try to make positive, moving music. ‘The Flight’ is about taking things to the next level. That’s really the theme of the whole album – moving to the next level. What the journey and the ride is like to start as an independent artist and becoming a superstar. The incline and taking off – me taking off and going to the next level. I’ve been behind the scenes for a long time, and this is like the takeoff.”

“Coolest” is slated to drop across all streaming platforms on Sept. 17.

Besenjo and Harlem Gospel Choir offer blessing to the world with new single ‘Risen Lord’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Anybody who listens to the music of East Coast R&B artist Bsenjo should be blessed. With an otherworldly vocal ability and uplifting lyrics, this young artist on the rise is showcasing an impressive talent that has led to multiple collaborations with big names in the industry. And she’s set to expand that notoriety to the global stage with her latest hit single “Risen Lord,” slated for release across all streaming platforms on Sept. 19.

Born Belinda Senjo in the northwest region of Cameroon, this contemporary Gospel artist and songwriter eventually moved to the U.S. in her teenage years to pursue music. Prior to moving to the States, however, she started making a name for herself as a young woman with an impressive vocal range and the ability to emote with others through song. In 2010, while still living in Cameroon, she released her first album “Stand On Your Faith.” And though the reception from that project was limited to her region, it was enough to spur her on to continue pursuing a dream as a global recording artist.

In 2013 she won the American DV Lottery and was able to move to the U.S. Soon after arriving she began to do covers of artists who inspired her – including Beyonce, Mariah Carey, Tasha Cobbs and CeCe Winans. She would post the covers to her various social media platforms and began gaining an ever-increasing group of fans. In 2014 she decided to showcase her talent to the rest of the world by auditioning for America’s Got Talent, and then again in 2016. The experience took her career to the next level.

She hasn’t looked back since, and in the ensuing years she has dropped hit single after hit single. The latest is “Risen Lord,” and it’s the perfect song to showcase her evolution as an artist. Featuring the esteemed Harlem Gospel Choir, the song serves as an acknowledgement of everything God has done in her life and give Him all the glory for the success she’s seen to date as a recording artist.

“Through all the storms in my life and the dark times, he has always been there to light my path and get my way around it and through it all,” Bsenjo said. “More than anything I want my music to be known for its authenticity and for helping people to know the fear of God. Everybody listening to my song should end up being blessed. I want to give people Jesus, not goosebumps. I want them to learn about and appreciate the love of God – and reflect on how good God has been to us. Every single moment of our lives is because of His mercy and grace. He will always be there during our dark times and our happy times. So more than anything I want my music to inspire people to trust God.”

LOS ANGELES, CA – Nilooteh is a woman with a rebel heart that isn’t meant to be tamed – a wild child with a free spirit and reckless mind. She’s the kind of free-spirited woman who is stifled in a strict regime like her home country of Iran, which forces women to cover their body and hair from head-to-toe. Women in Iran don’t have the freedom to do what they want, even when it comes to pursuing a career. And artistic pursuits are extremely frowned upon. But Nilooteh knew she had to be true to herself and break free from those constraints, so she moved to the U.S.

Now based in Los Angeles, this budding young artist is setting the world on fire with her unique sound and style. From music to fashion to art and various other forms of inspirational multi-media, Nilooteh is an artist demanding attention. And she’s showcasing that unique individuality across four new singles that she’ll be releasing every two weeks over the next two months.

The first release is “Watch Me,” a Deep House track with engaging EDM vibes meant to introduce the world to her unique brand of art. Slated for release across all streaming platforms on Sept. 9, the song embraces the idea of love in its many forms, and encourages listeners to not only tap into the energy and use it as a mood-booster, but also to consider what it means to be someone who loves without limits.

“If the Divine Source creates all that is beautiful and is working through everything, then the more you love, the more you embrace all parts of yourself, others, nature, and all beauty of the world,” she said. “This leads to better union and integration with the Source and provides true healing. As a result, you reclaim your rightful divine power. You also fully accept in yourself and others what is not of the Source – not beautiful – but realize that it is an error in understanding or choice. You forgive yourself or the other and work to achieve understanding. Ultimately I believe that women have the right to be free, and all the lyrics of my songs are about being wild and instinctive and sexual and sensual. It’s a little bit extra, but I want it to be because I want to show the world that I’m bold.”

Nilooteh said she wants to focus her music on that idea of freedom – both physically and mentally. She said too many people today are prisoners of their own thoughts and she hopes her music will become the vehicle behind which more people in the world find true freedom. She moved to the U.S. to find that freedom, and now that she has she’s excited to use her music to help free others.

He opened a smoke shop – starting the business from the ground up with nothing – and turned it into a $100,000 profit by the end of the year.
‘Beware of a Dog’ kicks off the year for young Canadian artist Marvin

TORONTO, CANADA – 2021 is destined to be the year of Marvin.

This new artist from Toronto, Canada is entering into the music industry with a splash that already has insiders turning their heads. That’s because of his latest EP, “Beware of a Dog,” which is the kind of attention-grabbing, genre-bending sound that only comes around once in a generation. Marvin’s mix of Trap and Soul melodies showcases an audio versatility and a penchant for writing relevant lyrics. His style is unique and fresh and is already gathering an unprecedented following to him.

“Beware of a Dog” is officially set to drop on Feb. 25. The project explores and outlines the toxic side of relationships. Across four songs, Marvin discusses a tale of bad choices leading to pain and suffering, which ultimately puts him on a road of self-realization and personal growth.

“It’s a story that entails the role of a ‘dog’ in the modern dating scene and the detrimental impact it plays in romantic relationships,” Marvin said. “It’s a project that says beware of individuals who champion this role of the ‘dog’ because toxicity in these relationships are inevitable. Relationships come and go, and the ones you cherish are the ones you need to keep forever. So stop your bad habits and progress as a human to reach that point of self-actualization.”

This journey starts with the single “I Hate Your Friends / Caught Cheating.” It serves as the wake-up moment to the toxic relationship described on the EP, when the friends of Marvin’s girlfriend throw him under the bus and reveal that he’s been cheating. He still tries to save the relationship by trying to cast her friends in a negative light, however his attempt at manipulation fails. This leads to the second track on the project, “Say Goodbye,” where Marvin is forced to say goodbye to the girl and acknowledge both his and her relationship flaws. With the third track on the project “Like Me,” Marvin begins to lament what he has lost while realizing the role he played in the midst of the toxicity.

“It’s me realizing I’m nothing but trouble and I brought a lot of misfortune and pain to someone I should have done the opposite for,” he said. “It’s probably better for her to move on. And then with the last track, ‘Bovaird Drive,’ I’m driving throughout the city reflecting on the bad habits that affect my life and the negative decisions that have gotten me to where I am while reminiscing on the good times we’ve had, which ultimately leads to self-realization.”

Marvin said he worked closely with producer Eden with whom he has previous works with, to craft something that captures a lot of Trap elements but blends them with a more soulful, R&B vibe. Ultimately, it’s a project that is very honest, transparent, and revealing— elements that Marvin has consistently brought to the table.

“What I really want my music to do is what other artists have done for me – to be relatable,” he said. “I’m going to write about relevant topics – relationships or moments in life – because it relates to things we all go through, you’ll want to listen to it more and more.”

Marvin said he has a lot more content on the way and plans to release many songs and a potential project throughout the year.

Highmann brings energy and fun with new album ‘Hard Time’

CHICAGO, IL – From the south side of Chicago, born in the Robert Taylor Projects, comes a rapper who is all about the good times. His name is Jesse Webbs but he operates under the stage name Highmann – a nod to getting high a lot both in his life and in his music. It’s also a light-hearted and playful moniker that is the perfect introduction to his fun wordplay and upbeat sound, which is put on full display with his new EP “Hard Time.”

Set to release across all streaming platforms on Feb. 26, “Hard Time” has seven songs that offer a diverse mixture of rhythms and grooves that will get people bopping their heads and put a smile on their feet. It’s a project that features a lot of heavy beats against lyrics that explore everything from being in a strip club, to having a bad trip, to going out with a lady and even a fun song that’s all about him being a rapper.

“I like to really concentrate on a nice beat with a melody and then do breakdowns and stuff,” Highmann said. “I have a lot of different sounds. I use a lot of bass drums and 808s and 606s. I try to incorporate horns whenever I can, or any instrument I can get the sound good that I can rap to. I do a lot of fast rapping, and I’m always mixing it up.”

That signature style is perhaps best displayed on the title track from the EP, “Hard Time.” Highmann plays with the words as he talks about how he navigates through hard times. While most of the other songs on the project are upbeat, this one is laid back and mellow, emphasizing his diversity as an artist. “Creepin” on the other hand, is an energetic and fast song that tells three stories of how he’s creepin – on an enemy, with a woman, and just generally sneaking around in the world.

“I wanted to put out a project that shows people that I make music that not only sounds good but is interesting,” he said. “I’m not saying a bunch of words that rhyme. I tell a good story. I’m entertaining and funny. And I just make good-sounding music.”

Highmann said he has always wanted to do music and credits artists such as Abla Homes, Henry Horner and Stateway Gardens for helping him to develop his style of hardcore mixed with party music. On this particular project, he worked with producer Beat by Jae to develop the diverse production and various Rap styles. And at the end of the day, he said he knows he made a collection of music that he would like to hear.

“I think I made some good songs,” he said. “We’ll see what other people think. It has always been a dream. And now that I have the ability to do everything myself, I’ve decided to go for it. This time right now is the time.”
