Rapper/ songwriter Emanuel Norman Jr, aka Bandman Sonny, was born in Aliquippa, PA on May 29 1990. His parents divorced when he was 2 and he moved to North Carolina with his mother. He was raised in Reidsville, where he got off to a rough start.
On November 2, 2007, Norman was arrested and charged with armed robbery, among other charges, and as a result spent 5 years in NCDOC. While incarcerated Norman learned he had a gift for free styling and also wrote numerous songs and short stories. He was released from prison May 13, 2013.
Norman continued to make music after his release but it wasn’t until after another arrest in mid-2016 for PWISD 3 pounds of marijuana, that he started to seriously pursue his musical ambitions.
He is currently working on his debut release “In Band We Trust”, in collaboration with super-producer Jayson Martin and BandCamp members Kendrell “K Niite” Pinnix and Quayshaun “Tip” Martin. Album is set for release early 2017.Norman currently lives in Greensboro, NC with his wife Brandee and their beautiful daughter Eriyonna.
