An anthem for the hundreds of thousands of employees affected by layoffs in the past couple of years, Only a Livin’ is an upbeat tune that will motivate listeners to realize they are more than their jobs, and what matters most in life are their loved ones, passions, and overall wellbeing!

After Eric Jackson was laid off in fall 2022, he started to realize he was putting too much of himself into a job that would never have his back when the time came. It’s a story that rings true with far too many individuals impacted by layoffs in the last couple of years. This song came from that experience and has become an anthem for those who have been impacted by layoffs, or for those who are just realizing that they need to put themselves before their job.

“When I was laid off in November 2022, I was gutted. At first I felt completely blindsided and lost, then I felt angry. This motivated me to write this song with my good friend, Jessie T.
