Where are we talking from today?

I live in Nashville as of late. I live in a three-bedroom house, just off of Nolensville Road. I haven’t been here long but I do like the neighborhood. My Name Is Ishmael Herring.

Where did you get your artist’s name from?

Strangely enough, I did not name the band. William Pilgrim is the name of the main character from one of my favorite books. It’s called Slaughterhouse 5, and from a much more sincere place written by Kurt Vonnegut. In the book, William Pilgrim is a Schizophrenic who may or may not be a time traveler. The book is Forrest Gump on steroids. The All Grows Up is a line from the movie “Swingers”. I believe Vince Vaughn says the line in a barroom altercation. The band was named by my producer/best friend.

Music-wise what are you working on right now? Are you currently promoting a single or album?

I’m forming a new band and promoting one of my old solo records on my Sound Cloud. I am forming an Indie/Soul/Rock band with some talented players. It’s going to be special. We have our first practice next week. It should be extremely gratifying. The Solo record I’m pushing right now is called ” Wild Child”. It’s on my Sound Cloud.

Where would you like to be in 10 years?

In ten years…jeez. I will be the CEO of a reputable production company called Sabotage Studios. I might get married and have some kids. I will be touring with some of the biggest acts in the world and creating sustainable living projects throughout third world countries
