German Metal Band “We are Legend” wins 4 times the German Rock and Pop Award

Balingen, BW, Germany — For the 40th time the federal competition “German Rock & Pop Award” was awarded in 2022 and the German  Prog Power Metal Band WE ARE LEGEND, a 5-piece formation of experienced musicians, could present and prevail extremely successfully. The award ceremony took place on December 17th in Siegen.

Dirk Baur, guitarist and string-puller of the formation, which cleared the 1st place, can confirm this immediately several times, because WE ARE LEGEND proved at the same time in several categories their ability lastingly.

“Not everyone manages to deliver “Best Metal Band”, “Best Metal Song”, “Best Metal Album” and “Best Metal Singer” in one go”, says Alexander Bartsch, board of directors of the local rock association. “It is an honor for us to have Dirk with his band with us as a member”, Bartsch continues. The band has already been a member of the rock association for 10 years.This success is absolutely no coincidence, because WE ARE LEGEND have already been able to win the 30th German Rock & Pop Award in 2012, at that time still with their first demo and the song “This holy dark”, which caused great reviews in the relevant media.

“To be continued!”, said Dirk with his promise to Germany   and the metal scene deeply rooted in it. “We are far from finished”. Currently, the promo for the current album “Fallen Angel” is still running, which was released at the end of July 22 and even made it to number 10 in the official metal charts.

WE ARE LEGEND was founded in 2011 and released their debut album at the end of 2013, which was overwhelmed with top reviews from the scene magazines. Numerous gigs and festival concerts were played before it became quiet around the band. In 2021, the band decided to re-release the album to get back on track.

ABOUT

We are Legend, a European formation with musicians from Germany and Greece, is dedicated to modern Prog Power Metal. With their new album “Fallen Angel” they open the next chapter in the band’s history.

The band’s first demo, released between November 2011 and January 2012, already received excellent reviews, which were impressively cemented with the release of the longplayer “Rise of the Legend” in 2013.

After a longer forced break the masterminds Dirk Baur and Selin Schönbeck got together again to write the successor “Fallen Angel”, which was recorded in various studios with the help of many friends and guest musicians. Selin’s outstanding voice, his duet with guest singer Eleonora from Italy and the queen-like choruses alternate with virtuoso guitar solos, massive guitar inserts and agile drumlines, peppered with many small details like brass sections and classical choir.
