Moonshine Mollys’ Release MIDNIGHT MOON

Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada — After gracing the cover feature of India’s Lazie Indie Magazine, female country duo Moonshine Mollys has new music available. 

NANAIMO, BC – May 12th, 2023 Moonshine Mollys’ the group that brought you Time and By The Rivers Edge are releasing Midnight Moon. Written by singer songwriters Doug Folkins and Cassandra Smith about someone who has ended a relationship and is ready to move on to a whole new life on the west coast. The single was produced by Lee Nicols at Treble Five Records. This is the third release for the group with Smith on lead vocals to give the fans a little something new. After branching out on their own and deep diving into writing, they have  a six song EP with more to come.

ABOUT

Most recently, Moonshine Mollys are the cover artist in the February 2023 issue of Lazie Indie Magazine, along with a nine page spread interview. In the summer of 2022, the duo released their debut single, TIME followed by the Fall 2022 release of their second single, BY THE RIVERS EDGE. They are continuing to write and create new music with a single, Midnight Moon to be released May 2023. With a special tribute coming July 2023. 

Cassandra Smith and Breanna Nixon have been singing together since 2018, starting as an eight piece cover band performing festivals and venues on Vancouver Island. When the world took a turn in 2020 Moonshine Mollys made the decision to become a female country duo. Seeing an opportunity to find their voice and new sound, with something to say these singer songwriters are planning a full album. The duo is not wasting no time writing and recording their original music with time being so precious. Their repertoire consists of original country music with blues and folk elements. Along with a variety of 90’s and old country classics. 

The chemistry between Nixon and Smith is undeniable. These two are genuine and down to earth with a great sense of humour. Bringing relatable stories that win you over, even if you are not a country fan.
