The 21-year-old Palm Beach Gardens native didn’t grow up thinking about what talent she possessed. As Mercedes Barreto matured, so did her musical fascinations and swapped Gomez and Lovato for Sia and Shakira and even got into Linkin Park and Daddy Yankee. All of the aforementioned gave her a sense of direction when it came to her own musical talents.
Growing up wasn’t easy for Mercedes Barreto due to the amount of bullying experienced throughout her childhood and with everyone always putting her down - she believed she wasn’t meant for greatness. Today, Mercedes Barreto is working every day to push those negative times away, and focusing on the road that lays ahead - the new album included.
