Fans of classic country western and Americana music can rejoice when Buddy Greenbloon and the Gothic Cowboys release their new single ‘Whiskey and Tears’ across digital music platforms on September 26th.  ‘Whiskey and Tears’ is the third single Greenbloom has released off his forthcoming studio album.

“I wrote ‘Whiskey and Tears’ for anyone who makes their living driving,” says Greenbloom.  “Whether you’re a long haul big-rig trucker, an Uber driver, or a business commuter, this song is dedicated to anyone who lives life on the road.”

Recorded in Los Angeles, California, this foot-tapping western swing nods to both classic and outlaw country music while injecting Greenbloom’s trademark gothic overtones. Replete with lap steel and twangy electric guitar, Greenbloom and company bring home an authentic country western sound, leaning heavily on the western vibe made famous by Bakersfield artists.

ABOUT

Buddy grew up in Houston, Texas watching country legends perform at small honky-tonks and rodeo events like the Houston Livestock and Rodeo Show and Cheyenne Frontier Days.  As a youth, Buddy competed in choral competitions in Brenham, Texas, and later learned to play guitar in Phoenix, Arizona.

Emerging as the ‘Gothic Cowboy’ in 2003, Buddy’s repertoire focused on performing acoustic alt-country covers of punk rock and new wave hits from the 1980s. Greenbloom has since performed across America at private parties and public venues.
