YungSurfGod - “LOOT”
YungSurfGod aka Tevin Charles is an emerging rapper/artist set to leave his footprint in the entertainment industry. Originally from Cambridge, Massachusetts. YungSurfGod is used to turning nothing into something, and overcoming all obstacles. Storytelling through his music and working with youth gives him a chance to express his emotions and to connect with audiences from all over the world. As a part-time job, Tevin has the ability to work with many kids in the greater Boston area, serving as a role model. Inspired by artists such as Wu-Tang, Biggie Smalls, Lil Wayne, Drake, J Cole, A$AP Rocky, Cousin Stizz, and Missy Elliott, Tevin Charles style is unique and uplifting. Persuaded by the Houston/Dirty South music era, YungSurfGod’s music delivers a versatile taste.
YungSurfGod's live shows are an escapade from reality as he will take the audience into an entertaining journey. Tevin seeks to encourage followers to go along with the flow of life by surviving it by any means. His message radiates positivity and empowerment. A rising artist with hundreds of thousands of streams on Spotify, YungSurfGod is escalating in the scene. Moreover, Tevin is a member of the versatile and diverse band 86 ent. With gut-punching lyrics, catchy melodies, and inspiring talent all around him, Yung SurfGod is poised to dominate the music scene for years to come. YungSurfGod is dropping three EPs in 2020 that will garner attention.
Apart from his musical talent, Tevin Charles is an aspiring videographer and editor. Gaining experience through the Loop Lab, Tevin seeks to help the young people find ways to express themselves. Overall, the Cambridge native seeks to become an artistic threat and be a well-rounded artist. YungSurfGod is an artist to keep an eye on as his talents will launch him into the spotlight.
“Loot” is an easy anthem for contemporary hip hop fans. Surf God drives with a simple lust for life, catchy hooks, laid-back concepts, professionalism, and style. This release is far from the exception and offers yet another track that further cements Surf God’s sound and approach as an artist. While that initial quirk of the concept and the hook are the first things to grab you, the song actually goes on to lead with a notably energizing beat. The heavy vibe, great rhythm, and something more of an alternative, late-night aura than anything purely designed for the pop world. Well worth a few spins at volume!
