King Melik’s ‘Chamber of Emotions’ Is the Therapy Session We Didn’t Know We Needed
In an era dominated by vibes and clout, Chicago’s King Melik dares to go deeper. His latest EP Chamber of Emotions is a bold, introspective statement of artistic and emotional maturity. It’s more than music—it’s an internal monologue set to rhythm.
The journey begins with “Midas,” a regal introduction that finds Melik channeling his inner alchemist. “What Else?” is a swaggering declaration that reclaims self-worth in the face of betrayal and neglect.
Then comes “Nothing to You,” a standout that wears its heart on its sleeve. Melik’s voice cracks with emotional weight, exposing the inner scars left by relationships that meant more to him than they should have. “Up My Savage” is the retaliation—a storm of bars and bass that shows the armor we build after vulnerability.
“Back inna Groove” offers relief, a celebratory exhale. “Heart Throberrrr” is tender yet assertive, while “We’re Not Friends” closes the door on old chapters with grace and grit.
This EP is cohesive, honest, and daring. It proves King Melik has a place not just in Chicago’s scene—but on a national level.
