ABOUT
Blending '80s nostalgia with modern electronic rock, pop, and synthwave, The Co$t of Life is the solo project of Colorado-based songwriter and musician, Jason Irving. Music has always been a journey and sanctuary for Jason, whose influences range from the pop tunes of the '80s and the dynamic sounds of Mutemath and The Midnight to ambient electronica and cinematic scores. Raised in Morrison, Colorado, Jason's early years were shaped by '80s pop, rock, and '90s techno, leading him to form the pop-punk band Suburbia's Finest, sharing stages with national acts. After a hiatus for higher education, military service, teaching in Tokyo, and starting a family, Jason reignited his musical ambitions in 2022, embracing new technologies and styles. The Co$t of Life reflects his diverse journey through life and music, following a 6-song EP, "Destination: Unknown," in late 2025 and with plans for a full-length album in 2026.
