Trio Aka Profit Talks Early Influences and Music Evolution
From Poetry to Hip-Hop: Trio Aka Profit’s Journey
Trio Aka Profit is back with a powerful new single that showcases his lyrical talent and creative vision. His latest project, BOOM...NEXT THING YOU KNOW, is a testament to his dedication to the craft, blending authentic storytelling with hard-hitting production. The standout track, THE SAGA CONTINUES..., offers a unique mix of East Coast vibes and Chicago roots, making it a must-listen for any Hip-Hop enthusiast.
Q: What sparked your journey into music?
Trio Aka Profit: My love for music has been with me for as long as I can remember. But it became my passion after my dad passed when I was just 11. Writing poetry became my outlet, and that naturally turned into writing raps. My uncle SixxFo, a talented DJ and producer, introduced me to FL Studio and showed me the ropes. From there, it was like I unlocked a part of myself that was meant to create.
Q: Your new album, BOOM...NEXT THING YOU KNOW, has been making waves. What inspired it?
Trio Aka Profit: This project is a reflection of my mindset as an artist. I didn’t want to follow the typical rules of creating an album. Instead, I focused on showcasing raw lyricism and dope beats—all produced by me. It’s about the art, not the formula. Albums like Be by Common and Nas’ Magic inspired me to dig deeper into storytelling and authenticity.
Q: What’s your favorite track on the album?
Trio Aka Profit: That would have to be THE SAGA CONTINUES.... It’s special to me because it features production from my bro Gost Magik in Brooklyn. The track has a heavy East Coast vibe, and my Chicago flavor adds a unique twist. Plus, it’s the track that sparked the whole idea for the project.
Q: How can fans support you and your music?
Trio Aka Profit: The best way is to stream and download my music, especially BOOM...NEXT THING YOU KNOW. Hit the like button on my YouTube channel, follow me on Instagram (@CallMeProfit), and spread the word. Every little action helps grow the movement.
Trio’s approach to music is nothing short of inspiring. From writing poetry as a young boy to creating beats in his home studio, his passion has always been about connecting with people through his art. With influences like Tupac and Nas shaping his style, Trio is carving his own path in the ever-changing landscape of Hip-Hop.
Don’t miss out on his latest single from the album, available now on all streaming platforms. Click here to listen to BOOM...NEXT THING YOU KNOW.
