Introducing a rising talent in cinematic composition, award-winning composer and producer Inal Bilsel unveils three captivating singles ahead of his fairy tale-inspired concept album, Once Upon a Cloudtop Meadow, set for release in March 2025. The singles—A Night at the Cloudtop Imaginarium, Berceuse for Lulu, and Sleepwalker—mark pivotal moments in Bilsel’s artistic journey, showcasing his unique style, which blends jazz fusion, ambient atmospheres, and classical elements into a vivid, cinematic tapestry of sound.
Based in Nicosia, Cyprus, Bilsel intricately weaves fairy tale-inspired narratives into his music, crafting instrumental stories that speak volumes without words. His innovative approach employs a rich sonic palette, combining orchestral writing with unconventional instruments such as toys to create a sound that feels both familiar and otherworldly. The use of IR reverb captured from personal spaces and sampled vocal elements adds layers of intimacy and nostalgia, inviting listeners on an evocative journey through sound.
The creation of Once Upon a Cloudtop Meadow draws heavily on storytelling techniques found in ballet music, operas, and film soundtracks. Each composition reflects Bilsel’s deep understanding of tone, balance, and orchestration—qualities praised by internationally acclaimed mastering engineer Bob Katz, who remarked: “Your album tells a mythical story, without words but with vocal sounds...achieved mix Nirvana!”

ABOUT
With over two decades in the music industry, Inal Bilsel is a well-regarded composer known for his solo work and collaborations. Fusing music and visual arts, Bilsel’s compositions are rooted in themes like science-fiction, nostalgia, and hauntology. His second album, Paradise Lost, marked a defining moment in his approach to conceptual and electronic music. Bilsel studied composition at Royal Holloway, University of London, and Eastern Mediterranean University, expanding his portfolio to include orchestral, chamber, and solo pieces. He is also the head of the Sound Arts and Design department at ARUCAD. His ongoing work aims to explore narrative structures within music, creating immersive experiences that resonate on a personal level.
