After a transformative hiatus, artist Lee Lewis makes a powerful comeback with his emotionally charged new album, Trauma. Inspired by personal experiences and a desire for justice and healing, the album marks a fearless return to music for the Savannah artist.

During his time away from the public eye, Lewis focused on advocacy, working to create safe and inclusive spaces for all members of the LGBTQ+ community, with a strong emphasis on supporting the trans community. His commitment to representation and visibility also led to the release of his memoir, Lee Lewis: Simply Complicated, a candid and compelling look at his life, identity, and journey. Currently, Lewis is developing a film adaptation of the book, bringing his story to the screen and expanding his impact through film.

With Trauma, his memoir, and the upcoming movie, Lee Lewis proves that his voice—both artistic and activist—is more powerful than ever. Slated for release between mid-August and September 2025, Trauma features over 30 tracks and numerous collaborations, diving deep into the emotional scars of Lewis’s past and transforming pain into empowerment for both himself and his listeners. “This album is my truth,” says Lewis. “It’s raw, it’s real—and it’s for anyone who’s ever felt broken but kept going.”

While away from music, Lewis launched LGBTQ Safe Space, a grassroots organization that hosts community-centered events at his home, creating a welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ individuals—especially trans people—to feel safe, supported, and celebrated.
