CHRISTOPHER MARTIN
As Founder and CEO of Camouflage Management, Christopher “Cam” Martin employs more than just his education and experience to guide his company through the ranks of success to becoming a highly recognized entertainment conglomerate. Cam is a visionary and leader with a mission. Currently, Christopher “Cam” Martin is the force behind Universal/Motown recording artist and songwriter, Mika Means. He is also developing pop ingenue singer/songwriter Ali Tamposi, along with his management partner Marilyne LeCointre. He has a long rooted history in music and was responsible for the direction of music’s most notable successes and celebrities. Cam holds a Bachelors Degree in Marketing and an Associates Degree in Accounting from Ashforth College and also comes from a solid military background. It is Cam’s strategic and fearless attitude that allows him to take risks. He understands what most don’t and says it best when he asks, “What’s the point of being seen if you’re not heard?” As he continues he makes it clear when he says, “I have a message to deliver and I’m prepared to deliver it across all mediums.” With strong relationships spanning the globe and an innate ability to seek out and guide exceptional talent, Camouflage Management is sure to become a staple fixture in the world of music and entertainment. The Camouflage Management mantra is “They never saw us coming” and Mr. Christopher Martin is moving fluidly throughout the industry, leaving his competition far behind. Christopher “Cam” Martin was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY. As a teenager Cam began going to the studio as a rap artist to record but he also knew that rap was just an enjoyable pastime. Nevertheless, he loved music so much that he wanted to immerse himself into the culture. Having a great ear for music, extraordinary interpersonal skills and a knack for being resourceful, Cam eventually became the “go to” person when it came to finding great studios and even the funding to go record. “It wasn’t intentional but people knew I knew a lot of people and I have always been an observer so if something was happening, I knew about it,” he says. Yet and still, Cam didn’t immediately see the connection between music and business. Always confident though, it was his good natured spirit that enabled him to share his resources with others. After high school, Cam joined the U.S. Air Force. By chance, he was stationed in Warner Robbins, Georgia – one hour south of Atlanta. Highly ambitious and with an undoubted love for music, Cam set out to find the beat of the city. It wasn’t long before Cam was in the company of Trina, Jeezy, Ludacris, Too Short, Cash Money, and Lil’ John. “I saw these people grinding way before they hit radio and mainstream. I immediately recognized their talent and I respected their hustle and having been from a fast paced city like New York, my everyday lifestyle was a hustle. So before I knew it, I fell right in the mix doing what I did best.” It was in Atlanta where he discovered the connection between music and business and it was at that point that Cam took off and never looked back. Very insightful, maintaining his diligence, and a highly disciplined work ethic, Cam became the resource man and the mouthpiece who could sell water to a well. Cam began working very closely with Lil Jon and the BME Recordings family and was very instrumental in the successes they share today. Working under the toutelage of Lil Jon, his partner and manager Rob McDowell, and Vince Phillips who is Lil Jon’s partner and prominent attorney – Cam still notes them all as mentors. With the knowledge he gained at BME Recordings, Cam set out to put his skills to the test. He began managing female rapper Chyna White. Respecting her abilities as an artist and understanding how tough the market is for female rappers, Cam sought to bring Chyna White to the forefront. He brought Chyna White to Lil Jon and she was signed to BME/TVT Records. Due to Cam, her many successes include appearances on countless Lil Jon albums and an appearance on Foxy Brown’s 2003 Grammy nominated album, among others. Cam’s unwavering love for music is evident in his most recent position as Director of A&R at Polo Grounds/J Records. Cam executed his musical vision and ability to set trends by carving the direction of music for a majority of the Polo Grounds artist roster including most notably Hurricane Chris’, Nina Sky, C-Ride, and Boxie. Cam also notes Polo Grounds Founder Bryan Leach as a mentor. Christopher “Cam” Martin is more than just a strategic businessman; he is an innovator blazing trails for others to follow. Utilizing his previous military experience as an Air Traffic Controller, all his music industry knowledge, education and instinctive foresight, Cam is guiding a movement. “I love music and trust my instincts. When I was an Air Traffic Controller, people depending on me to guide them through the air to their destination en route of safe travel. It is no different now, my artists trust me and Camouflage Management to guide them safely through the ranks of the music industry to the top of the charts and beyond,” he says with a slight enthusiasm and a calm demeanor. Christopher Martin is a force to be reckoned with and Camouflage Management is already on it’s way to becoming a musical legacy.
