Richmond, California – July 10, 2020 – There are roughly over 150,000 people in California going to bed nightly without a roof over their heads. Sheila Torres is one of them. Homeless for the past couple of years, she’s seen things one could not imagine, but through it, all does what she can to find beauty in the art she creates with what little she has. 

Armed with very little to record, Sheila Torres has done what she can to 17 original tracks over the past 10 months. From her debut “Fallaste” to her most recent singles “Misery,” “Ride,” and “What a Shame,” she has showcased versatility, diversity in sound, as well as spirited performances throughout. That diversity in sound comes from the fact that there is a myriad of styles Sheila Torres crafts; from hip hop to alternative, she doesn’t confine herself to a box. 

Life is not ideal for everyone, but the last two years have been as rough as they come for Sheila Torres. She lost her brother in 2018. That same year her ex left her heartbroken. Today, she’s broken but not done trying. Alongside her mother, they do what they can to survive on a daily basis, hoping that Sheila Torres’ music can lead them to better days.
